My last post showed the historical waterfront buidings in Bergen, Norway. Today I want to share the same concept from Copenhagen. This area is called Nyhavn, and it’s built along a man-made canal that flows into the sea. It dates back to King Christian V who was famous for lots of expansion and development within Copenhagen. This part of Copenhagen is kind of magical. Again, my family all lived in the rural farming communities, far from city life. But I just love the atmosphere of these sections of the old cities. I love that the buildings date back to the time when my ancestors were living. Today the street level of these buildings are filled with restaurants and shops.
