I have quite a few research goals for myself this year. One of them is very over-due. I’ve been wanting to be part of the Legacy Family Tree Webinar series. For those who don’t know much about this great offering, let me fill you in.
Legacy Family Tree Webinars is a service that offers multiple online classes each week. Most of these live webinars are available to the user free of charge. Some of the featured webinars require a membership fee for access. Once a class has been posted, it appears on the site in archived form. For us as users, these webinars comprise a giant library of information. The speakers are among the best in the field, and I’m lucky to call many of them my friends. See here for more.
I applied to be part of this series last year, and I am so excited to say that I will be delivering a class on March 27. One of my favorite topics to teach is Scandinavian methodology called linking patterns. You may remember the recent blog series I posted on the topic. This class will show those concepts in action. The webinar will be titled, “Which Hans Jensen is Mine? Navigating Patronymics in Scandinavia.” I hope you will consider joining me to learn more about same-name research in an area infamous for same names. The registration link for this class is here.
